As I have said in previous postings althought this is not my first boat it is my first sailing ship. There is a lot of "manufacturing" with the Victory build some of it challanging and some of it fiddly. I have in mind the large number of rigging block we have to construct particularly if you like me have opted for full sail rigging (there are 50+ blocks of varing size on the masts alone not counting the yards)

My method has evolved on a trial and error basis (It was a trial and there where a few errors)

I have attached some pictures

The main problem I had was, like most of us, only two hands

My way around this was to place one end of the thread in a vice

Place the loose end around the block that you are constructing, place the end under the thread that is attached to the vice

This will leave a loop through which I pass a pair of tweezers and pull the thread tight, repeat for the second hitch and again with the tweezers ensure the two hitches are tight to the block

Cut to length

I apply a small amount of glue to keep the knot tight

I can now knock out these blocks reasonable quickly

Hope you find this method useful. I am sure we all have developed are own methods but its good to share which is what this forum is all abount. I have picked up some useful hints myself
