In light of these 2 excellent threads by Jase:

Improving the Cabin Partitions - Part 1

Improving the Cabin Partitions - Part 2

I decided to also move the cabin partitions backwards to provide a space for the door to open without hitting the gun, as well as cut openings in the rear partition wall.

As I did not have blanks to replace the sidewalls, I had to make do with the parts supplied.

The plans:

The measurements for the rear wall.

The measurements for the side wall.

* The drawing was knocked up in Google Sketchup, you're welcome to send me a PM with your email address if you want a copy of the file.

The result:

The rear partition marked, as well as the 4mm strip that will be cut from the middle of the side walls.

The windows cut from the rear partition and a front view of the amended sidewall (top), shown with braces at the bottom. NOTE: line up the panels against a ruler, or a piece of wood to ensure that the 2 halves are aligned when gluing the braces.

The next step was to sand the panels to size and sand the top, front and bottom of the reconstituted sidepanels.

All the panels done
