She is coming on very nicely.

I like your method of fabricating the centre pin rails.

Happy building

here I'm attempting to emulate the knightheads(that thingy that holds up the anchor)
http://www.pbase.com/mic...lszewski/image/57403554

I've done this in the sandwich method,I used scaps of 6mmx1mm.the pics will explain all.if anyone wants the dimensions of the bits used just shout.sorry not up to s.o.bs graphic artistry.

that's it for now,got to add the wedgy things to the knightheads and a bit more paint.

I've started on the shrouds only to experiment with whippings, and the general overall look.comments very welcome, good or bad,I won't mind changing or redoing it if it is not right.

I will be dropping back to filling up the cannonball racks and rigging the guns on the deck.

hi karl
did you use the fly fishing method of preparing the deadeye/shroud lashings? as the lashings look a little big for the rest of the shroud, i only say this as you are looking for some feedback. perhaps prepare the lashings on a smaller drill bit/dowel/nail or whatever you use. i went off track when i did mine, as the magazine pictures of lashings on the actual victory looked different to the way described in the step by step. i tied the shrouds to the deadeyes in 3 places
1. on the top of the deadeyes
2. around 10mm up from the deadeyes
3. around 3mm up from the deadeye
the picture i used for reference was on page 13 of issue 92 the black and white drawing
it also meant that i had physically tied the shroud to the deadeye so i knew it wouldn't slip
also i know the front cover pictures are not quite what we are building but it looks as though thats was the way done there.

hope you don't mind me telling you this karl, especially with your modelling experience, which i glean from all your diaries

keep up the good workBigGrin

Hi karl!

I see you haven't fitted the hammock cranes and netting yet, you will find it hard to fit them with the shrouds lashed in place mate.

Also I'm sorry to tell you that the ekeing rail on your port side is fitted to the upper beakhead rail while your starboard ekeing rail is fitted to the lower beakhead rail.

nice work karl.ThumpUp ThumpUp

i think it's a bit easier to put the shrouds and other rigging on before the gunport lids, as i kept getting the lashing thread wrapped around them and pulled a couple off in the process.

this is where I'm at,at the moment, fore and main mast shrouds done, mizzen just started,I had a roll of softish wire 1mm. so I cut a piece of 5mm.x2mm. x 20mm.plank and used that to make up the deadeye spacers so that I couls adjust as I went along.

Dont know how you have the time to do so many kits at once?
I struggle with the two I have at the moment.
