The 2012 season will be contested over twenty races — the longest in the sport's history and with 6 world champions in the mix, 2012 is set to be an exciting F1 season!

Who's your preferred team or driver and who do you favour to win?

If I'm honest I'm not completely happy with the fact that I aswell as many others are paying alot of money for the privilege of watching formula 1 and there's advert breaks during practice. I phoned sky about this and asked y and they said the RACE and RACE only will not have adverts but the quaily will. I'm not being funny but this channel is supposed to be dedicated to f1 and there showing ads? F1 comes on once every 2-3 weeks would it really be so hard to just leave the ads out it's a joke and it's not fair considering the amount of money u have to for it.

Rant over. Apart from the ads the coverage has been very good

Lets remember Sky are on paper going to produce so much more than BBC ever did, so advertisements and our subscriptions will pay for that. Like Mr Brundle said, If you go to a restaurant you are expected to pay, Sky is no different, its not a charity. And to be honest going on this mornings showing, the f1 show, all the season reviews, legends programme's in my opinion its worth it.

For me McLaren is my team, Don't mind who wins this year as long as its LH or JB! Ive got £10 on LH to win this weekend and £20 on JB to place 1-2-3 at the end of the season.

Looks set to be amazing, the cars are so close. Can't wait for Sunday!!

EDIT - and by the way, how amazing is the helmet cam?!?

Great start for tomorrows race, a 1/2 front grid for McLaren and what about Lotus and Mercedes beating Red Bull for position.

Good to see Shumi back in the mix and it looks like Ferrari are playing catch-up..

did you all see the underbody shots of buttons car during free practice 1
those shots were worth the money for me.

as far as adverts go, the practice sessions were too late/early for me so recorded them, and the same for qualy, (since i had to take the wife away for a birthday treat) so adverts, what adverts, just fast forward. the race is advert free, unlike the old itv presentation, and during practice and qualy there are natural breaks so thats when the adverts come.

if you want to moan about sports coverage try watching athletics on channel 4, there are adverts roughly every 5 minutes, and the coverage changes from c4 to more4 without warning, and try setting a series link....forget it

so its up early to watch the race, take my son to rugby training, and back in time to watch the saints win the l.v. cup in the afternoon

Button done good! BigGrin

I wish we could have seen a Vettel race Hamilton rather than take a sneaky 2nd.

Well done to Sky for what was excellent coverage!

good race, good result, and great to see that it could be a very close season hopefully with a british champion.

paul diresta showed that you need to keep racing right to the finish, nice to see him get a point.

Great opener for the season with a fantastic result for Mclaren. Not quite sure what happened with lewis's start but at least he still made the podium. I'm not sure what happened with that double pit stop, did the team get that wrong? or was that a Lewis foul up? either way I feel it cost Mclaren the 1/2. Either way, congrats to Jenson and Lewis, they both drove a fantastic race. Oh and a last thought...for an underperforming car, Red Bull look ominously quick!

Ah but is it an under performing car? or is it just slower over a single lap and better at race pace? We'll see BigGrin
