ISSUES 24,25,26, and 27 Hi Team I have now finished the work on these issues, to my satisfaction. The Hull is sanded and prepared for the second planking. The first photos are of the Bow, you will see I used 5mm x 2mm planks around the tight curve, this has given a better shape and good fixing for the second planking, I checked with Hachette and the second planking is 5mm x 2mm.:- MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

ISSUES 24,25,26, and 27 The next photos are of the stern, after planking I poured neat PVA adnesive in the Hull covering the inside of the planks, I will still use plasterers tape and epoxy adhesive before I fix the planks down:- MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

ISSUES 24,25,26 and 27 The final photos are of the centre of the Hull, I have used 5mm x 2mm planks where the sides of the Hull meet the base, this has again given in my opinion a better shape. Questions and comments are welcome Regards Mike MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Your hull looks excellent Mike, your tips are really useful to me as well as there are many things i haven't done before. Progression like that is going to get you any excellent final product. Hope mine is even half as good. Cheers Peter

ISSUE 29 Before fitting the parts this week I thought it was worth taking some time looking how the decks will fit with these Bow and Stern parts we are receiving. The first thing I did was sand to fit the two stern deck pieces, I then fitted extra supports for these deck pieces, here are the photos:- I used 4 cut pieces of 5mm x 2mm planking, I am making a static model so these modifications will not interfer with any thing infact it will give a better fixing at the join of Deck pieces 104 and 105 MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

ISSUE 29 Hi Team the next thing I did was to level up the third deck from the stern, I found it was 2mm too low so I cut some pieces of 5mm x 2mm planking and fitted these (Did anyone else have this problem?) I then sanded the sides of the deck level with the ribs here are the photos:- MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

ISSUE 29 Here is a view from the side, I can now fit the extra plank. Then there is a photo of the sanded deck. It pays to take some time over this build it is not always as straight forward as it appears the Deck alignment is very important MWG attached the following image(s): MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.
