I must admit, if the fix is gloss coating the model, then i wouldn't feel comfortable about doing that incase i mess it up! Don't want to lose £700 on a bit of naff painting!

I'm not keen on glossing the finished kit.... Just imagine the amount of masking, or dismantling to get it right! Roy.

This modle is sold as pre-painted so its not my problem, for £700 I expect it to be spot on not too different shades of red

Mr T.. it will be two weeks on Monday since popping this question and as my build has halted, can you update me with an answer to this, or at least tell me that it has been looked at please.

First chance I have had to check mine & there is a difference between the red on the wings, compared to the red on the lower front quarters! The wings are matt, whereas the other parts are gloss. Looking forward to an update soon Well spin my nipple-nuts & send me to AlaskaCurrent Builds:McLaren MP4-23Finished007's Aston Martin DB5FinishedMillennium FalconR2-D2BTTF Delorean (Maybe)

It would seem to be standard on this model judging by all the posts here, I've also just received the first of the side pod items and the red is quite substantially different.
I think my thoughts are considering how McLaren are with the details concerning their cars, I recall them sending trolley wheels back as they were the wrong shade of grey for their factory, are they going to be happy having their name associated with a product that has this issue?

Must admit I am disappointed with the slow response from Deag regarding this.
It is three weeks today since I posted the problem and the only way I can see this being sorted is to send replacements for either the matt finish or the shiney finish.....that may be new front and rear wings in the gloss or..... side pods and future red parts in the matt finish.
My build has come to a stop as I cannot fit these parts until I have an answer....as the pods are glued !!

Finally got round to checking the parts i have. They are different, gloss and matt. Worse thing is i have already attached the parts. Only just checked cause front and rear wing built and stored away. To me we need replacement front and rear wing with gloss finish. Could do with this sorting very soon.

Hi Guys/Deag, Found a couple of real good pictures which shows the glossy look of the front and back wing. In order to stay compliant with not using other peoples material, i've posted the links:- This is the real car http://www.f1fanatic.co....11/01/mcla_mp4-23-1.jpg
This is the amalgam image http://mclarenmp423.com/...-23-22-1-8-mon-11-1.jpg
This compares our model with the deag one http://i264.photobucket....mark302/NoseCompare.jpg
So basically, there's all the pictures that deag should need, all we need to know is what they are gonna do about it. Ian

Thanks for the info Ian....think that our front and rear wings are wrong colour then ! This must be sorted as there will soon be another delivery on the horizon and I don't think I'm going to keep paying for something that is not up to acceptable standards......besides what I have already spent !
Edit I would not mind so much if it was a small detail but the predominent BIG colours are silver and red

I have just looked at my parts again and have compared them to some pictures of the real thing that I took at goodwood a couple of years ago and it is hard to say which are right and which are wrong as the colour changes as the light moves around the car. I think this is going to take a while to sort and if the problem is with the front and rear wing how many parts will they replace as there is quite a few issues all glued together now.

if it is a problem then all body parts should be replaced as some people have built everything they had to the only parts that should not be replaced are the engine gearbox front suspension and some parts of the cock pit ie eveything that mr T has not put together on the body and wings

Anyone else also notice how the graphics that will be down the side are "cut off" where the side panels meet the undertray? Can see this in all of DeAg photos so guessing that's just how it's going to be! I'm currently leaving the states to sail back to the uk, if there's still no response from DeAg about colour change when I get back I won't be very happy!!! If at first you don't succeed........skydiving is not for you!
