i was wondering, i want to protect my paint on the Akagi from wear and accidental scrapes, so i was wondering if varnish would be a good idea?Confused

If yes, what type?

I know gloss is too shiny, but what about satin?

Or is matt the best?
I smile because i have NO IDEA whats going on :)

The choice is yours and it also depends on the finish you are looking for.
If using the Tamiya TS-66 grey, then personally I wouldn't bother as it has a nice satin sheen.
If you want to proceed, you'll need to ensure that the intended clear coat finish is compatible with the paint you have used, simply test on some scrap to be sure.
