Is it just me or have some peoples build diaries just gone compleatly down hill.
Some people have excelent ones but others are so disapointing as they havent even bothered to put any acctual build pictures on just some ofnthe tools they are using and then turned it into a general discusion for three pages of when is it going to start and what day they recieved there issues and what free gifts came with it how disapintingCursing

And some who have just put up one or two photos and nothing else .
I do understand that alot of people have a very busy calendar and things beond uor control do occur but some just decide to stop the build altogether.

And before anyone says well why not start your own the reason is simply i have got to far on in the build to put any on and a few mistakes that im trying to address.

is this a case of calling the kettle black? whilst I do agree that a few are just chat rooms and should be titled as such, you cannot criticise if you haven't put one up yourself, even if you are far advanced, and a few mistakes to rectify, that's what we'er here for.I know of at least two builds that have no pics at all,and they should be made to be removed.and some others that have very few pics, but by and large most are what they should be,so cheer up and put up.

writing as someone who has a diary, i know i don't out too many pictures up, but the way i do mine is to build away happily and once i have completed a big stage, then i put some pictures up.

the main reason for this was that i joined the forum when i was well into my victory build so felt that having done such a large proportion before i put my first pictures up that i shoud continue that way with some pice every now and again.

when i started mt san fran diary i had every intention of putting pics up at every stage, but being the type of person i am i get caught up with the build and the photo's take a back seat.

so the next diary i put up will hopefully be the akagi, and i am going to try and post pics a bit more regularly.

i know what you mean about some of the diaries, i have been guilty myself of treating some others diaries as a bit of a chat room, but have apologised for doing so.......see riff raffs titanic build..... but at the end of the day if someone has a diary up and others then take it over what can the diary author do about it.
Come on you Jimmies

Thanks for the quick replies karl and saints i was in no means trying to critisize any bodies diaries as i put i dont have one but i just thought as i enjoy looking at peoples progress and reading there comentry that i would start a new topic to see if anyone else felt this way

And once again thank you karl for putting it to me to start my ouwn diary from where im at it think i shall do this in the very near future as it is starting to get boring waiting for the next delivery im hoping also to build my own diorama scene for a display so any advice would be of a great intake
I shall start monday but dont expect anything too special on the car as im doing just a standard factory build and its my first attempt at any model making since i was 11 but the diarama is going to be my own design and choice maybe alot of chrome leds

Hey fellow Yorkshireman.

I've put pictures up on my build, and tried to add as much help and advice as possible.
Personally I have a few reasons for not continuing my build diary, 1. Im going to do a similar thing to Warthog and add loads of detail and extras, Im going to give this a real go from the start, and 2. I moved into my first house yesterday, so with the missus, obviously, the build takes a back seat, and decorating takes a front seat.
I aim to get up and going within the next 6 months, but with everything that needs doing it can change.
Thinking about it, because of the details I plan to add, waiting until the end of the build diary, Tomick is running, may be the best idea for me to make notes of certain things.

Having said that, I won't be complaining to anyone that they have not updated there's as if peoples lives are as hectic as mine (working shifts and having other stuff on!) I understand that its not as simple as may seem. I do like to encourage people (Come on Warthog :D ) to do theres as its interesting though.

SchueyKings build is a great thread (And all others updated on a reg basis) and they are the main reasons the build diarys are great to read, I guess most others who plan to add detail will come as time passes. Im glad SA have got the build as this forum will keep going for as long as poss.

I'm not bashing mate I promise!!!! Just giving my thoughts as Im sure you understand.

As i stated mike i ment not to offend anyone and it may seem i was going on about one perticular diary i dont come on here to post negative comments if you were to look at the new topics i have posted and also not that i was judging just stating a point im still looking forward to seeing peoples builds and also to post my own so that is the put up part sorted
and i also know that sometimes people make it look like a chat room that is beyond the control of the origanal postee
im still eagerly awaiting your pics and progress i know you were still deciding which route you was going to choose hope to see soon

BigGrin Hi build diarys will always go off on tangents as people ask how did you do that,so explanations on that subject can take up space. You have to remember there are people on here who are compleate novices and at the other end of the spectrum advanced modelers, who try to pass on there skills and help others to make a model they would be proud of.If your not happy wadeing through the comments/questions just stick to Mr T's official build as you will just get the diary without comments
regards
