In 2 days time this will now be 4 weeks since posting for Deag to come back with a reply. With nearly 3000 views I would consider this OVERDUE for someone to comeback with a solution !!!!!

Tomick....this needs sorting please.

I agree...
An ANSWER please.
At over £600, this isn't a 'trivial' question.
I'm saving my parts for a future 'total' build, but I would like to know if I'm going to have to re-paint bits.
At this cost, I shouldn't even need to be asking.
Roy.

Its not for me to sort Angry

I have previously advised that Admin/DeAgostini are fully aware of the matter, who will advise once they have all necessary info to hand.

]Tomick

You have been the one to reply to my posting of this problem therefore I have assumed that you are the one whom is dealing with the matter on behalf of Deag...or is there a more direct line I/we can direct any further frustrations to ?

Deag are not going to personally reply on here so I guess you will relate any conclusions to us.

An update would be good from Deag themselves rather than just hearing they are aware of the problem.Angry

I did say on the 22nd March "Admin are indeed investigating this and will advise accordingly." - Which means that they will advise.

Admin are DeAgostini, and therefore any reply that comes from Admin should be taken as such.

Dear all,

Following our investigations, the colour change only affects the front wing components that were painted red overall.
We recommend that you correct this by one of two options:

1. Overspraying the parts with clear lacquer to obtain a similar finish.
2. If you have already assembled the front wing, it will not be possible to refinish it, we will resupply Issue 1 and 2 parts, and the relevant parts from 3 and 5.
Please call 0844 493 65401 for replacements.

Thank you.

This mistake is obviously going to become more of an issue as the build goes on and the colour difference is more apparent.DeAgostini should just replace the parts and be done with it.Their must be hundreds off people that dont have access to this forum and they will be asking the question sooner rather than later. It should not be up to us to request the replacments.Mad

Surely the same is true of the rear wing as this is the same colour as the front wing???
I've got a 1:18 model and the front and back wing are the same "shiny" red colour!

Ian you have just beat me to it....

As per pictures I posted front and rear are same matt finish, if admin care to have a look they will see !!

Both are built up and cannot be disasembled so I would require front and rear replacements.

If we are to laquer then which one is recomended as I would not like to have any more problems.

Glad that it is admitted there is a problem even if it took a while to sort.

Edit just read admin reply and they suggest spraying....but I have no spray equipment !!

I suggest to anyone that is going to do this that they do it to the "un-built" parts of the front wing and rear wing sections as the silver coat will be affected unless completely masked off. Maybe dis-assemble if you can...

Or to spen a few quid (well £10+) this is a far better sollution... Tamiya wax

I feel cheated, we should receive a replacement front and rear wing and then the laquer too use. They supplied the oil for the tyres, so why nit this?
Have admin got a reply regarding the rear wing and the supply of laquer?
Failure to rectify the situation to a full and proper conclusion could mean the model is not fit for purpose and subject to a full refund?

Thanks Tomick and Warty for trying to helpout with info.
I appreciate your help Tomick since replying on the 13th March re Admin looking into it.
But nevertheless it has been a month to get Deag to offer to supply the parts for the front wing.

I really ain't gonna wait another month for them to offer the rear wing as well.

I am loosing interest in the build as this is now getting a boring ongoing unresolved issue.

DEAG PLEASE GET MOVING AND RESOLVE PROPERLY AND NOT FIDDLE ABOUT ANY MORE.

Forgive me for being new to modeling, but surly if you spray the front wing parts it will again have a different finish to the rest of the model, and tbh as a newbie I dont have the skills to spray a model. This is not a fix its more like a bodge and its at our expense to fix. Mad

And as for calling to get replacments thats a joke , as your all aware calling our Customer service's a another lottery, ive wasted already to much time trying to sort other issues out, let alonne this one

Hi Tomick & Admin,

I have just checked my front & rear wings. As previously suggested, they are BOTH affected by this issue, as they are both matt & already assembled.

Additionally, if we have to spray before building, then it is more than just parts from issues 1,2 3 & 5 that are needed.

To re-do the nose requires issues:- 1, 2, decals from 6, stays & covers from 7
I think 3 & 5 could be re-used as they are screwed in place.

To re-do the rear wing requires issues:- 14, 15 & 16

Additionally, to ensure we achieve a finish that is consistent with the rest of the car, if we have to do this ourselves, we need DeAgostini to supply the correct varnish/lacquer in an aerosol form. Otherwise, we will all be experimenting at our own cost & will not get a guaranteed finish.

For the amount of money & effort we have all invested in this model, I don't think that is expecting too much!

Please advise an easy way to ensure we all get the replacements & finishing spray required.

Thanks
Well spin my nipple-nuts & send me to Alaska
