Hi Karl, shes looking good, only 38 to go, i have 62 parts sitting waiting to start, this will probably be autumn this year. i also had to tell the misses as she was moving her craft room to the daughters room who unfortunately moved out. i thought i better admit to this build before she moved the boxes and found them, although she just laughed when i said i had them... oh and so she then went out and bought a new dolls house kit... i cannot argue now. current builds

nice work karl as i said to mwg the whole build seems a bit out of sequence, i did look at it when it first came out but decided not to take this build on, and no disrespect to yourself or anyone else who is working hard to build on this model, but i'm glad i did not go ahead with a subscription. keep up the good work. Come on you Jimmies

nice one alan, wish my missus would buy a dolls house kit,I'd end up building that as well. saint, thanks very much for the comments, but diplomacy is not your strong point is it!but no offence taken, though I had reservation 'bout this build,it is slowly growing on me. ha ha Karl, the dolls house is fine but as you say she keeps asking me how to cut out this, how to make windows, how to tile the roof... it goes on and on, my daughter passed an HND in Furniture production and design last year so she is now also getting the treatment. but seriously she now knows how patient us modellers have to be and how as she calls it "the frittery bits have to be just right" also like you i was apprehensive and almost gave up due to the poor quality of some parts, the deck fittings being "not as the original build". but thanks to you and mwg my faith has been restored in what can be achieved, its everyones individual choice after all. thanks for the encouragement current builds

She's looking really good Karl, you've done a super job there. I have yet to start on this build. I have been a bit concerned about this one, and that's a fact. Have you made any modifications to her at all Karl? Top job there shipmate and love the paintwork!

I'm sure there was a very good reason for doing the decking the way you did. Why did you do it in two halves instead of quarters, if you don't mind me asking? I have yet to start on the endeavour, but any info you would care to share would be gratefully received. Regards Glenn

hi silent, when you come to do the decking you will see why,you have to be very acurate to do it in quarters, and the wood is very flimsy,.05mm thick.the decking fits together like tongue and groove so they must be very straight, and the same width or your in trouble. WOW, looking good. I'm up to about where you were in post #181 and have up to week 92. Had some damage to the aft decking and had to lift and re-do some of it (not happy) From the look of your pics I'm in for some fun and frustration, any tips for a first time ship builder? My build list says Bismarck but I'm still on the first planking. Current builds: The Victory (of course) The Endeavour The Bismarck Lancaster Bomber And any model kit that catches my eye Everything from 1/35 military to Godzilla and anything in between. Oh and a suit of armour. ( yes real knights armour )

one or two tip for the planking o bearded one, first bevel all planks on 1 edge and always pre bend and taper bow planks.and read the instruction twice and again whilst actually do the planking.most important is patience.good luck and enjoy. there is a stand available but you either have to subscribe to get it or apply on line and pay for it,as it is considered an extra.bad bad money grabbing greed. I see. I'll just have to make my own then. This would have to be my biggest gripe about these things, this one no stand, the Lancaster no rivet marker. All necessary but not supplied. Oh well need to try out my new Dremel trio anyway.
