Hello fellow modellers, This is the start of my build diary for the German civilian passenger airship the Graf Zeppelin registration number D - LZ 127. Here are some facts regarding this ship by way of introduction: 'LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin (Deutsches Luftschiff Zeppelin #127; Registration: D-LZ 127) was a German built and operated passenger-carrying hydrogen-filled rigid airship which operated commercially from 1928 to 1937. It was named after the German pioneer of airships, Ferdinand von Zeppelin, who was a Graf or Count in the German nobility. During its operating life, the airship made 590 flights covering more than a million miles. It was designed to be operated by a crew of 36 officers and men.' General StatisticsCrew: 36 - 40 Capacity: 20 passengers Length: 236.53 m (776 ft 0 in) Diameter: 30.48 m (100 ft 0 in) Volume: 105,000 m3 (3,707,550 ft3) Useful lift: 60,000 kg (132,000 lb) Powerplant: 5 × Maybach engines, 410 kW (550 hp) each PerformanceMaximum speed: 128 km/h (80 mph) The kit itself is stunning and perfect for super detailing (more on that later). In the mean time here are some pictures to get you going?  I have permission to post these pictures:  I have had to take two photographs of the box. One of the front of the ship and one of the rear, I couldn't get it all in one picture its that big!

More pictures to follow. The history and construction of the real ship is interesting indeed. The manufacturers of this kit have done an amazing job capturing the memory of these wonderful machines.

I was just wondering if you had made any progress on this build as it looks like a very interesting and different kind of model. Would love to see it finished??
