Hey guys,
After many weeks of uhming and ahing I have decided to delve into the world of Ship building to embark on a new hobby as a keen historian.
I have subscribed for the Victory, but also managed to pick up issues 1-48 for about £100, am I right in thinking I can alter my subscription to start from say issue 49 once it appears in "My Subscriptions"?
I am looking for a complete kit too to start honing my skills on, perhaps the San Francisco II.
Looking forward to this new hobby, I've read your builds with great interest!

i assume that was the collection offered on ebay, if so well done, you will have plenty to do before you catch up. you can get the issues straight from deag at the issue you want to start at i believe, but you can also get your newsagent to start from there as well. the good thing is whatever you do at least you have a lot to work on before any new issues arrive. i subscibed to the san fransisco as a inbetween/learner build and have found it quite a nice model, but for an even easier build for practice try the endeavour longboat, or have a look at la nina, you can't get it here, but there are a number of stockists on line that sell that model, it's quite cheap, but is a really good model for learning planking and other general bits and pieces. Come on you Jimmies

Tomick, thank you for the warm welcome!
arpurchase, likewise thanks for the welcome! Definately going to take things slowly, I've been looking for a long term hobby which occupies me for sometime!
sainstman, indeed you are correct it was a collection offered on ebay, I logged on to check if there was some bundles and when I saw it and realsied I was getting roughly £282 worth of magazines etc plus some binders I was quite eager to snap that up!
I had already subscribed before I found them, once my subscription shows up on the subs service am I able to switch from issue 1 (the only choice I had when subscribing) to a later edition?
I will have a look around at your suggestions, if you have anymore I'd be delighted to hear them! Looking forward to getting some build diaries going!

I'm sort of new to ships but have done other parts-works things. The Victory ( just starting ) will make number 11 in ten years. Doing the bismark and Endeavour right now, with a mix of Lancaster bomber for variety. Current builds: The Victory (of course) The Endeavour The Bismarck Lancaster Bomber And any model kit that catches my eye Everything from 1/35 military to Godzilla and anything in between. Oh and a suit of armour. ( yes real knights armour )
