Hi there shipmates...I hope that you are enjoying your Easter break so far? I have been working on my foremast over the past weekend here is my latest pictorial update...
RollEyes

Today I shall be working on the lower foremast to add the final bits an pieces that make up its construction then I can concentrate on the upper section that is covered in issue 69...I have found that with many of the rigging blocks that come with this build, the grooves and holes in them are not well formed, so, I have found, extra time put aside for cleaning out the holes and deepening the grooves that take the various widths of cord using a fine edged needle file is important when it comes to fitting them to the build.
Wink ThumpUp
Well, that's my lot for this weekend...Happy building shipmates...

Well, it has been a week since my last update and I have not got very far with the build...But here are the latest pictures showing my progress so far..
Blink

The latter picture shows where I had been continuing with the upper mast build when I ran into a problem with the dowell supplied? I don't think that it was the dowel itself that was faulty material, more my heavy handedness when reducing the dowel from 6mm to five were, following issue 70 step 3 when preparing to carve a step, the dowel snapped in two at that very point!!
Cursing
Lucky enough, I found a spare length of dowel in amongst my Cutty Sark off cuts, so I began shaping that this morning until the missus, (she who must be obeyed) came in and asked me to drive her up to the shops? Oh well, I will have to continue the foremast when I get back!!
Cursing
Happy building shipmates...

Hello there shipmates, just reporting in with my latest build update...Have not done much, but I am slowly but surely getting there? I am still working on the foremast, so here are my latest pictures.
BigGrin

Well, that is as far as I have got so far, now I have to get on with completing the foremast and main yard, which as you know, is a very fiddly task, and that it will get more complex as it progresses? This build has vastly more parts to it than any of my previous builds, and so, therefore, I think it is well worth the money I've spent on it so far!!

Great stuff Jonny.

I like the method that you are using to make sure the studding sail booms are aligned and to keep them in place!
