Trying to keep off the 'RED' subject at the moment and I assume there is no underfloor plank to fit to this model. I have looked at various places regarding this build and cannot find any info or a mention....so I guess if we want one we will have to make one.

An interesting subject, 'the plank' was introduced in 1994 to provide a minimum ride height for F1 cars after the events of Imola that year. This was the end of the flat floor and the birth of the complicated stepped floor.
I'll ask the question..
In the meantime for anyone that wonders what the plank is for..
Ride height control is needed to maximise the performance of the underfloor aero. It's ride height control that the teams need in order to maximise performance. Ride height control is used by the FIA to limit the performance of the underfloor aero, and in effect its a passive safety feature.
One of the problems with the old flat bottomed cars was that in certain conditions they could very quickly go from creating huge downforce to none at all, and if the speed was high, the car then became a missile and headed straight for an accident and it be huge.

F1 regulations heavily limit the use of ground effect aerodynamics which are a highly efficient means of creating downforce with a small drag penalty. The underside of the vehicle, the undertray, must be flat between the axles. A 10 mm thick wooden plank or skid block runs down the middle of the car to prevent the cars from running low enough to contact the track surface; this skid block is measured before and after a race. Should the plank be less than 9 mm thick after the race, the car is disqualified.

I am worried by some of the articles in the link regarding some butchering required to make some of the of the engine cowls fit properly.

Also notice there was a mention there of a clear coat to achieve a glossy finish? Is that the fix for the colour mis-match?

There is a note on the Japanese site here, second item in the list, about using a clear coat for the model, although the translation is difficult to read. Was just wondering if this clear coat is just protection or if it has anything to do with the Colour change in parts OMG thread.

Can I gently remind members to place posts which relate to the colour finish, into the existing finish topichttp://forum.model-space...s&m=48068#post48068
Thankyou
