Thanks Jonny. It's a bit of a battle to make enough time to do it, but a little every evening after the boys have been put to bed does the trick for me.

Thanks tf64 & Gerrit tf64: I used the rest of the wire that was supplied with the main yard which was a little tougher to wrap, but did not break at all - normal needle-nose pliers. The wire which was supplied with the fore yard was softer and more pliable, but I broke 1 while forming it and another when I fitted it to the yard I drilled another hole right next to the broken shaft and fitted another part. I'm going to ask for a replacement issue as issue 71 was short 1 of the end-irons anyway. Cutting the short pieces for the Main top yard Middle part of the main top yard glued in place The fore yard being dressed:

Nice and neat job there Stefan. Looks like I might need to source some better wire locally as I should be starting my masts this weekend. Thanks Hans. It may be helpful, even though there is more than enough wire supplied. Some folk annealed their wire by heating it (may on the braai?) and then letting it cool. It would be great if you can get enough wire to finish all the yards in one go.

Hi Stefan I am enjoying your build. Speaking of wire - go and take a look at the Craft shops that sell beads to make jewelry, they have a lot of brass wire in different sizes, I found some at the china mall in JHB. Cheers Current Build: HMS Victory
Built: HMS Bounty
Next Build: Sovereign of the Seas Started collecting. Redrawing of plans for Santisima Trinidad for a scratchbuild. Santisima Trinidad - waiting for launch.

Thanks Stefan. I recall there was thread about it. Castos has also put another idea through (thanks Castos), as I am in JHb I will go and have a look anyway. You are right, there probably is suficient wire, but if the quality is suspect it will do no harm in trying to source something better. After all the money spent so far anyway, it will be worth it.
