I've been sent issues, 1,2,3,4,5,14,15,16,17. The colours are unchanged. After seeing Roys post called and requested 6 & 7 also. Will hold onto these until Admin come back with a response.
If they come back with nothing then i will give Spencers "Pledge Klear" a go. Worst case scenario, Spencer has offered to do everyones for them which is very kind of him! Flapper

They look good, although the image is a little blurry to see the full effect and how shiney they are!
A Question though, how do you get the real good shine like car laquer?

This is my 'experimental' front wing.
2 coats of Halfords clear lacquer - 15 mins between coats.
I'm happy with the finish. Forgive the naff picture - cheapo camera.
The wing is now very smooth and glossy although the pic doesn't show it well.
I want red side pods!!!!!!
Roy.

Hi Roy,
I'm a real novice at spray paint but did you use anything else to get the shine or litterly just spray?
Thanks
Ian

As above....just opened issue 46 to fit the sidepod cowls and they are a glossier and brighter red to all the other parts ( same colour ).

Now....are all the other parts wrong or right ??

The previous red's are a semi matt finish and this one is much better but I don't want a two colour red car Cursing.

This is the first real problem I have had and it ain't a small one.

Admin...Tommick, advise please....do I bin the kit or are you going to give me some reassurance that this is not the real colour ? HELP !!

Hmmm....that's what it's all about Confused

It's just spray straight from the can.
2 light coats at around 18" distance.
The spray wasn't heavy enough to look 'smooth' on the panel - if it is, you've put too much on.
It should look very slightly 'dimpled' - as if you haven't sprayed quite enough.
Don't worry - it will 'flatten' after a few minutes, and then dry out.
Remember, if your lacquer still isn't quite smooth enough, you can always give it another coat 15-20 mins later.
If you aim for a glassy finish straight from the can, IT WILL RUN!
Several light coats will give a great gloss.
Let it dry for a few days then polish it with Micromesh.
That's what I will do as my wing ISN'T glossy enough yet!
Roy.

Both times I called was around 10.30 mornings.
They answered in around 30 seconds.
I'd guess this time of the day, everyone else rings as that's when they're home from work so the switchboard is frantic.
BTW.... They NEVER asked me for any bits back.

That has made a hugh difference from what I can tell. Did you also have to apply the lacquer to the silver parts or just the bits where it is meant to be red ?

Cheers

I too am being sent these parts,I tried calling them again as I noticed not all parts were covered to redo the wing but as yet no joy, but I have been cut off 8 times now. I was also told originally I'd be updated by email re' rear wing parts but again nothing as of yet nothing. Anyone else know anymore?

With regards my red wing:
I only lacquered the red parts, before assembling them. (see my message above for how I did it)

With regards getting hold of customer services, also see my message above - try ringing mid-morning, 10.00-11.30.
I've not had to wait more than a minute.
Roy.
