I'm not impressed with the email I recieved. It suggests that I change my password if I've used it on other logins, because their site might have compromised it!

Recently, information on a limited number of registered users of the De Agostini My Subscriptions online account was potentially compromised as a result of a technical fault which caused the website to crash. This may have resulted in information about a limited number of users becoming available to other visitors to the website.
The technical fault that caused the problem occurred at 11:26 am on Saturday 28 April 2012. We became aware of the extent of the problem and subsequently took the site down at 12:30 pm on Monday 30 April 2012. The problem affected only a limited number of users who attempted to log into their online subscription accounts between those times. The effect of the problem was that, if someone attempted to log in, an error message appeared which may have shown the email address and password of one or more other users who had also tried to log in during the affected period. As far as we are aware, the problem did not affect any users who did not try to log in during the affected period, and no data relating to any users who did not try to log in during that time would have been made available to anyone else as a result of the problem.
You are receiving this email because we believe that you were one of the users who logged in during the affected period. Accordingly, your email address and password may have been revealed to one or more of the other people who tried to log in during that time. It is not certain that this was the case, but it is at least a possibility.
Even if your email address and password were revealed to someone else, it is not certain that any attempt will be made to misuse any personal information that was revealed. However, we want to enable you to take steps to minimise the possibility of you suffering any inconvenience should any attempt be made to misuse any such personal information, and also to explain what you should do if you would like any further information or advice.
The personal data relating to you held on the De Agostini My Subscription online account, and which may have been revealed, concerns the following:
• your email address
• your deAgostini account password
We have identified the technical issue which caused the problem and have fixed it. We do not believe that the same problem will reoccur.
We recommend that you should do the following:
• Consider whether your deAgostini password was the same password used by you to access other online accounts. We would recommend that you should change your password with other providers where you have used the same password elsewhere.
• Even though the risk of any misuse of your personal data is likely to be very small, you may like to keep an eye out for any evidence that anyone is attempting to misuse your identity in any other way - unexpected accounts being opened in your name with confirmation being emailed to your email account being an example. Inform the police immediately if anything like this happens. As the affected information did not include any information about your address, date of birth or payment details we believe such a risk is very small, however it is always a sensible precaution to check who you are receiving emails from and whether these are from senders with whom you have an established relationship.
We would like to offer our sincere apologies for any annoyance, distress and inconvenience to you that this breach of security may cause. Should you wish to discuss any points with us, please let us know. You can contact us by email at customercare@deagostini.co.uk or by telephone on 0845 1489 250.
Yours faithfully
