Hi All The series is also famous in Japan. It is 55-week partwork 1/2 scale model of Samurai armor (甲冑) but completed on Feb 2012. However DeAGOSTINI Japan sells back number till August 2012, I wonder that they sell it persons living in foreign country. There is a custom decorated with a small armor for boys on 5th May in Japan. I also decorate with them for my son (attached picture) . Best Regards, Y.HONMA Yutaro HONMA attached the following image(s): DeAGOSTINI 1/250 the YAMATO, 1/250 the AKAGI. Hi Silent Running! Thank you for replay. Now it is mid night in Japan. At this time I send pictures of mine. Picture 1 is an enlargement of the samurai's helmet that is called KABUTO (兜). The image of the dragon has ridden on it. (Picture 2). We also decorate with models of arrows and bows.(Picture 3). Picture 4 shows the case of the armor that might be felt strange for you. We can see a lot of such armor models here and there in this season. If I can take pictures of them, I will send them here. Best Regards, Y.HONMA Yutaro HONMA attached the following image(s): DeAGOSTINI 1/250 the YAMATO, 1/250 the AKAGI. Hi all I send 3 pictures of SAMURAI-armor models. We have a custom which wish boy's healthy growth and decorates with such armor model on 5th May in Japan. Picture 1 shows a model of full armor set. As the height of this seating model is about 40-50cm, I guess the scale is estimated at 1/4-1/5 . The price of this model is about £1,000. Picture 2 shows a more gorgeous model with mini arms. The size of this model is almost the same as the model of picture 1 . The price of this model is about £2,000. The last picture shows a model of SAMURAI-boy with armor. You might see the title of this model written as "若大将". It means "A young general". I'm very glad if you would be interested in these models, Best Regards, Y.HONMA Yutaro HONMA attached the following image(s): DeAGOSTINI 1/250 the YAMATO, 1/250 the AKAGI. This Samurai build is in English and was built using Japanese instructions.
It starts at 17 but gives a very good idea of the end result.. http://thechrismckenna.b...2011/09/in-begining.html

That's a great blog Tom, thanks for sharing it and shows the armour in a whole new light, quite impressed actually!!
Does the UK release come with those extra options at the end like the mannequin (is that wooden?) to display the armour and the Samurai sword, etc??
