Hi Team

How high should the end of the complete bow spirit sit off the floor when the ship is sat on its stand?

I am just at the point of adding the rigging to it but I need to know if it is in the correct position before I start

Thanks Guys
You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

riff raff, this is a hard question to answer, every ship will be different, but a good guide is when you fit the gang plank to the fo'castle and forward knights, the bowsprite when pushed into it's hole (housing)it should be just touching the curve of the gangplank, secondly at which point of the bowsprite
do you want to measure from? 1.at the base or 2.the tip? mine is at the base 203mm. and at the tip it is 470mm.
the measurements are with the ship in it's stand and from the base of the stand.
Current builds: SotS, USS Consitution, San Felipe, D51 loco, HMS Surprise, RB7, Arab Dhow, Jotika HMS Victory
Completed builds: HMS Pickel, Thermopylae, Mississipi river boat, Mary Rose, Cutty Sark, San Francisco II, HMS Victory x5, Titanic Lifeboat, Panart HMS Victory Launch, Hachette Titanic, Virginia Schooner, Endeavour Longboat.

Thanks Carl - Mine is 405mm from the bottom of the base to the very tip of the complete bow spirit assembly

I just needed to know if it was sitting at more or less the right angle to the deck.

Hi riff raff! Cool

The bow sprit is set at an angle of about 30 degree's to match the slope of the false keel.

Sorry riff raff yor post slipped me by. Darron is correct in that the bowsprit angle/height is set by it resting on the angle of the false keel beneath the bow deck.
