Cool. yes it would make a good diorama. maybe with a modern 4 x 4 and a couple looking around it as in the pics “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Well the cockpit has been stripped, the canopy has been shot up and parts of the fuselage have been stripped.the pilot of this one is listed as Mia.there won't be much left of it soon. Nearly as sad as this one http://www.qmfound.com/l...b-24_bomber_recovery.htm

No it's not looking good the bullet holes in the front cowl, bits miising and broken from the cockpit. and all on an airplane that the pilot's remains probably lie close by it's hart brakeing. Here's a link to some more pics i've found. https://picasaweb.google...AE&feat=directlink#
In the last pic the holes you can see are more likely to be the self destruct on the IFF going off than new damage but as you can see its looking worse now it's been found after seventy years unfound!

An update to the P-40, an italian team have found humans remains approx five miles from the crash site so it looks like Dennis Copping is no longer missing.

Hello Louie,
That's great news for his relatives if it is Dennis's remains. Let's just hope that it isn't in fact the remains of some Bedouin tribesman. Thanks for the update.
Bernie.
