Hi,

Can anyone tell me if they will supply an overall plan for the model during the build?

Hi Bron62
What I wrote in other topics may help you.
DeAGOSTINI Japan’s “The AKAGI” official website is exhibited till July 2012. Anyone can visit there without any registration. You can see the parts list of Japanese 100-week-part-work series in it. The parts list might help you make the building plan for your model.

I am afraid it might break a rule here to indicate a specific URL directly. I put key words by which you use Google search engine to reach the URL.

Key Words : 赤城 DeAGOSTINI パーツ一覧

If you try it, please remember “パーツ一覧” means “parts list” in Japanese and it brings you the list page.

Best Regards,
Yutaro

hi Yutaro HONMA,what Bron62 meant was the drawing of the agaki to scale I think?so you have an idea of where everything goes.

Hi karl1113!
Thank you for your suggestion.Blink
1/350 plan of the Akagi is included Hasegawa plastic model "Z25". I think it is perfect enough to build the DeAGOSTINI model. A assemble manual of the kit surely helpful for building the DeAGOSTINI kit, too.
As a person who finished his Hasegawa model does not need the plan or the manual, he may give or sell Bron62 them.
Japanese modelers often use a market on the web such as Yahoo to get such items. I don't know how UK modelers get such items.Confused Please someone give a advise to him.
Best Regards,
Yutaro

Thank you Yutaro and Karll.

Karll is correct I am after plans to scale with a preference for the DeAGOSTINI model.

Based on Yutaro's comments it appears a scale plan will not be supplied. If someone wants to sell the Hasegawa plan I am interested in buying a copy. If preferred the purchase could be conducted through E Bay and use Paypal to effect the payment.

BigGrin Hi Bron
after looking at the japanese parts list it would seem that plans are given out towards the end of the build. Part 68 maybe plans but its not clear, parts 92,94 and 95 definatly look like a set of plans but its hard to tell of what as its a small picture. Hope this helps

Crying Sorry Brom but after a bit more fiddling on the japanese web site i managed to get the parts enlarged part 68 is a piece of cloth the other 3 mentioned above seem to be card templates of some description. So it would seem no plans are given out in japan which will probably be the same for yourself and us in england.
regards
Andy

Hi Bron!
You are welcome.LOL I hope your success, but I am afraid that to buy a copy of the Hasegawa's plan is illegal in Japan. It is the same in UK, isn't it.Confused
I recommend you to buy original one.

Yutaro

HI S2ksean
HASEGAWA CORPORATION sells 1/350 Akagi kit with the same scale plan of the Akagi in it. I think Hasegawa Co. has copyright of the plan. At least in Japan it is illegal to copy the plan for sale. Thus I recommend to buy original plan.
Best Regards,
Yutaro

BigGrin In other words if you buy the kit you have permision to use the plans but not to sell or copy as the copyright is owned by hasegawa

HI Allan!

Thank you for sharing good Information!Laugh I've never seen such a fantastic material and want to get it someday.Drool
I also introduce IJN war ship modelers "Random Japanese Warship Detail(Vol 1 & 2)".

http://www.tamiya.com/ja...rship_details/index.htm

These booklets feature a lot of illustrations and drawings of warships used by the IJN ships before or during WWII.

I have found a great publication with sheets of Akagi schematics and colour drawings. The publication is called Akagi Vol 1 from AJ Press of Poland. It is a bilingual Polish and English publication authored by Adam Jarski and Miroslaw Skwiot. The drawings are the best I have been able to locate and far superior to those being sold online in the US.
