Hi mike.
Nice clean finsh to your hull. well done on the first of many brass bulkhead walls, they get even fiddler when you have to stick doors , ventilater covers and other bits to the bulkheads.
are the portholes drilled into the wood to give them depth.
looking fantastic keep up the good work.

ISSUE 36

Well Team I was out bright and early this morning (06:30hrs)and got right down to fitting the parts this week.

I will not go through all the preperation stages, you will be able to pick them up on my build at ISSUE 35

I cut out the brass parts with a scalpel, then filed the Brass etch where the parts were attached to the fret:-

ISSUE 36

Then I attached the doors to the brass, using super glue gel, and making sure the hinges were on the correct side.

Then I bent the brass corner piece at 90 degrees.

ISSUE 36

Finaly I stuck the piece`s to the superstructure, in the correct position, using my prefered adhesive (evo stick serious glue)

Remember I have treated the superstructure with sanding sealer for a better bond. BigGrin

Hi Mike,
Your hood's looking great. Can ask how are you bending the etch parts? I have seen photo etch pliers for sale for around £25 and didn't know if these are a good idea or not. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Gareth, thank you for your question.

I am not using any special tool just two steel rule straight edges (one on the fold and one behind) to create the bend.

Also I have used the edge of the white conti board you can see in the photos.

It just goes to show that you can spend what ever you want up to a small fortune on tools but some of the simplest and cheapest are at hand and will do the job. BigGrin
