You can make a spray booth from a good size cardboard box with some kind of extraction filter/vent on the back so it can be cheap or you can go down the expensive road of buying a custom one...or Find an old oven hob extractor with filter compartment and make a simple box from wood.. get a lazy susan ( no offence to anyone who has a partner/wife of the same name )for the turn table so you can get acces from all sides..
plonk the extractor on top and you have a good booth..

Google "scale modeling spray booth plans" and you will have enough to choose from..

Or if your really brave and don't mind losing your undercarriage than try this SPRAY BOOTH FOR REAL MEN

I was thinking the more cost-worthy route was making my own... and your comments have definately helped me decide that.

I was thinking of using some plywood, making the box, for the fans I was thinking of using 2 maybe 3 CPU fans from a computer (cheap and pretty powerful) and then a filter from a air conditioning unit.

The only thing I am a little bit concerned about is the electrics, Im by no means a whizz with these at all.
So I may come back asking what may seem very stupid questions!

Here's another question for you.... A plant propagator... How would that fair as a drying 'booth' for sprayed parts?

You might want also to consider adding a flexible hose vent kit to the extractor unit, similar to that which might be used to vent a tumble dryer, that way harmful paint vapours can be directed out of a window or via an extractor fan.

Only problem there is that some power supplies blow air into the case..be warned!!

Thanks for the advice guys... Karl very good idea, just one issue.... I dont have a space PC! I use Mac's so there all built into one unit.... I have some plywood laying around though, so Ill use that. Top idea though!

My feelings now are plywood box, one extractor fan as you would find in a bathroom, under cabinet strip light and a filter screen with a dryer hose out the window.

Now, time to plan and measure up!

hi Dontshootme,I was thinking of removing everything including the psu,and reversing it and screwing it back on the outside so it draws instead of blowing,also the cpu's fan can also be utilised to draw.
