Thanks Castos & Hans. I'm already spending the money with DeAgostini (Jacklin), so I'll keep asking for replacement issues until the quality is up to scratch ;)

Completed main topmast yard: Fore topmast yard under construction: I'm fitting the bands (0.25mm thread) using superglue. It makes the thread hard, but I get a much better fit than tying the knots.

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my build dairy gentlemen, and to leave a comment - much appreciated! I'm just doing a little in the evening, the paint and glue needs time to dry! This is a close-up of the results I'm achieving with super-gluing the thread to the middle of the yards. Steps: 1. Give the yard the 1st coat of paint. 2. Place a drop of superglue on a work-surface (that you won't accidentally drag a body part/ Magazine /Tool /Victory part through) 3. Place the Yard on the plan 4. Gently dip the end of the thread in the superglue and place in the correct place as per the plan. 5. Hold the thread until it doesn't move any more (10s) 6. Cut the thread long enough so that it will wrap around the Yard 7. Repeat for all threads 8. Starting from the first thread, wrap the thread around the yard and glue in place with a small drop of superglue. 9. After the glue has dried, cut off any excess. 10. with a small file, file off the superglue that spread onto the wood. 11. repaint The completed main topgallant yard Cutting away of the ribs of the cutaway

Well, I'm working through issue 74 now. There are still some work outstanding on finishing off the fore topmast, but I have to wait for the replacement issue. Channel moulding fitted Had to drink a fine bottle of Pinotage to get the lead that will go on top of the canopy, but it was a sacrifice I was willing to make (and will do again if there is anything wrong with the covering. The lead super-glued to the Entry port canopy top, and the Entry port glued to the hull. Little bit of touch up needed and the gold detail still needs to be done. The way the shadows fall make the port appear lopsided on the photo, but it is perfectly square. I found that using the little jig I made to hold the wriggles in place when marking and cutting the Wales came in very handy to glue them in place as well. (The right-most wriggle on this picture has since been centered properly) Port Stern view View from the port bow
