Hi mate,
Mine was the same as this, I filed a lot from the rear of the supports but there was still a slight gap when I fitted them. I found that when its all attached and painted, the dark paint tends to lessen the visibility of the gap anyway, and I also applied a thicker coat around the gap so it filled it a bit more as well.
Hope that helps! Tom

I also drilled holes in the backs of the supports and added a brass pin to make it stronger when in the hull, might be worth considering!

Hi Jonny7england, Your photo shows me you have a similar problem to me. Don't know if it's the right solution for you, as I was doubtful about filing down the sides myself,so I altered the angle of the back of the canopy top to drop the front end, which brought it line with the sides. Mine turned out alright, but using this method you may find (if you try this), you might need to adjust the back of the side panels also because making the angle more acute makes it marginally narrower front to back. Happy building David

I'm not there yet Jonny, but from my understanding of the instructions in the magazine and reading through Darron's build dairy, we must sand the top of the side supports nearest to the hull down until the front touches the (horizontally held) canopy.

Hi Jonny, I had this fit issue also. I filed the the back end away until i had a snug fit along the full join. the metal is soft so not a big problem. Just keep test fitting as you go. Good luck “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain
