Is there any chance someone (Tom/admin lol) know if we will be offered the rain tyres at any stage of the build. I for one don't mind paying for them as I think they will make a great edition to the car. I've looked on the jap website but can't buy them on there, I would call them but unfortunately I don't speak the local lingo lol.

DeAgostini were hoping to offer a set of the wet tyres at some point, which was pending McLaren approval for the UK market. However the last I heard on this was that it was looking unlikely.

Hi Tomick,
Are the carbon decals going to be easy enough to add when the model has been constructed or are we going to have to take the suspension apart to add them?

Sorry Ian missed your query. The issue 65/66 steps show the decals being placed without need for disassembly.

I agree they do look good. However McLaren won't approve the license for them to be made available in the UK, therefore DeAgostini are not permitted to sell them separately as they do not have the rights from McLaren.

What possible reason would Mclaren have for refusing permission?

McLaren don't have to provide a reason.

McLaren decide what we can and cannot have.

Little point in going the route of the why's and wherefore's, for the UK the wet tyres are not being made available.

I suppose it comes down to like most things in F1, very political and keen to protect their own interests etc for whatever reason they might have.

One can only but imagine the hoops that DeAgostini have had to jump through just to get such a model licensed.
