Thanks Peter, I'm not gonna start the keel properly till next month when I have all 3 keel parts. I'm thinking about getting some square metal tubing and putting this on my wooden base over the brackets to be extra sure its straight Dont want a warped keel!

Very well done! The waiting, especially at the beginning drives one nuts. Which tools in the kit do you need to proceed?

I haven't got any drill bits small enough to make the holes on the carronade. I dont mid the wait as I want to get it right. Magnifier also as it was out of stock, But ive got good eyesite at close distances, just dont ask me to drill a hole at arms length

Its a good idea to wait untill you have all the ribs and keel, and put them all together in a Dry Dock Jig Regards Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Can't remember if any bits we supplied. Ordered a pin-vice which came with all the small bits, I bought 1mm, 1.5mm 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm HSS bits at the hardware store. (The pin-vice only takes up to 2.5mm though.

HI thedoctor1805.I use a dressmaking pin,by cutting off the head and the point of the pin is NOT used as the cutting end,but the cut end is used for the drilling, break as many as you want, very cheap drills.they are about .5mm- .8mm thick.saved me a fortune in broken drills. Current builds: SotS, USS Consitution, San Felipe, D51 loco, HMS Surprise, RB7, Arab Dhow, Jotika HMS Victory Completed builds: HMS Pickel, Thermopylae, Mississipi river boat, Mary Rose, Cutty Sark, San Francisco II, HMS Victory x5, Titanic Lifeboat, Panart HMS Victory Launch, Hachette Titanic, Virginia Schooner, Endeavour Longboat. http://www.model-space.com/gb/

Finally got the jig finished and the keel glued together. When the tool kit arrived i realised that the drill was a little rubbish, so just brought one and some micro bits from amazon. Ill post the pictures of the completed carronade when I've got them.

My dad (who hates any form of model building, says it's a waste of time and money and even calls me an old man for doing this!) even said to me last week "Take your time, your doing a good job of it so far" It's good to have some excellent support

Hey guys Got the next 4 issues today and I've got a couple of questions. With issue 18 should you get another 12 pounder and should you get some pins for the decks at this point? If so, i haven't got them Cheers
