Attatching the Chainwales Options

Got ahead on myself and painted the hull including the Channel Wale. Now I have come to attatching the chainwales where the advise is NOT to paint the channel wale as this might affect the adhesion of the glue. OOOppps. So rather than remove the offending paint I have used a method of attatchment similar to that when we attached various other components to the deck. I have drilled several holes in the chainwales and glues in pins with the heads removed, leaving approx 3mm exposed. Then offer up the chainwale to the correct position on the hull and use the pins to mark the hull. Drill the hull then glue and fix the chainwale in position. By the time you have also attached the supports with supperglue and pins it will not move. Jobs a goodun

Great Tip Gil, I have done the same but not yet attached the chainwales, Thought of doing it that way myself, so Im glad someone beat me to it and it works!BigGrin
