I read this post yesterday and purchased one from ebay, it's a must, I can see dust appearing on my build despite putting it away, plus I want to see it as I progress so thank you for the info!

was looking at a display case but might do somthing else.
basic idear is a shelve for the car, wheel and my 1/4 scale helmet i got.
now im adding carbon fibre material and prints to go with it.

still no news on the display case yet, this is an old topic. i even messaged your facebook page about the case early in the year and they told me that we shall be seeing it anytime now, that was back then. Iv been waiting to see what you guys come up with and not buying one from the guy on ebay and now his prices seem to have gone up. im sure they are £70 now and was around £60 before.

I think DeAgostini are missing a trick here. When you subscribe to a model series you get offered tools and everything you need to complete the model. Why not a case? Optional of course! If DeAgostini offered a case to buy with each series (whether it be car, ship, plane) in which to display your model. I'm sure everyone would jump at the chance. What do you think Admin? Come on, you know it makes sense

Ive also bought one of these cases and its superb, no wasted space, nicely finished although I have out mirrored Platicard in the back which somehow reduces the look of the case and of course shows off the other side of the car. The price has gone up a bit but still represents good value.

ive been looking into building my own mainly to price up because i can't justify paying £70+£14 for delivery ilooked at wickes site and two lengths of ali angle and one sheet of accrylic 2mm thick plus chipboard base 12mm thick witch i will insert a sound chip and button into (got it from a cheap f1 toy car my son got for xmas and broke the wheels) plus cover in carbon fibre fablon all for just £50

iv read that somewhere also about the acrylic showing up to many marks. its gotta be glass for me, i know its gonna add weight to the overall model but it will look brilliant. im sure japan deagostini had a plastic case they had for there customers so im thinking its gonna be the same here, although on the facebook site i was told that the case would be worth the wait and i wouldnt be dissapointed. just have to wait i suppose, iv a feeling admin have got a bigger subject to deal with right now although i cant think what that might be. hahaha :-D

At a local glass co. I can get all the bits cut (don't need polished edges which just triple the price) for around £20!!!
Add in black plastic angle, a piece of 9" wood veneered shelving cut to length, some clear mastic for glue, and the whole shaboot is a tad over £34 - it looks ACE!
Mine is half made already, and I've made one previously for a friends 1/12 Trumpeter GT40. Just contemplating a mirror base instead of wood finish for mine, but it will add an extra whopping £12!!!

Hi everyone. A model of this size and cost MUST have a case, it would be a dust magnet otherwise. I was toying with the idea of making my own display case as well, even had a nice piece of slate for the base. But as i'm not a sheet metal worker i realised the the cover would be a bit daunting so i decided to take the plunge and buy the afore mentioned case. And i must admit for the price you pay it's fantastic. OK, i know he's put his prices up a little bit, and he was maybe a little cheeky for 'borrowing' a picture or two, but i still think it's fantastic value. I was a bit concerned that the model may look a bit cramped in there but it looks great. Chris. PS. And no i don't work for him.

OK, got this off the bloke from ebay, advertised as fitting the model. Have just put all the bits in place, balanced nose and rear wing in the correct places, and the model looks more like 640mm NOT 595mm as given earlier in this thread. I can see no way of getting a reduction in the length that I have just measured. The case is 645mm internally - tight squeeze!!!!

The case is 645mm internally - tight squeeze!!!! With all the bits laid out in mine I get about 1 1/2 inch clearance either end so it will easily fit!
