After my previous post regarding my method of making fire buckets the next step was to figure out a way to attatch my buckets to the rail on the poop deck Attatched is a photo of my first attempt. I constructed a small rail from a piece of 1.5 mil square wood, I then drilled a series of .75 mil hole at 4 mil intervals along the rail making a total of 20 before I ran out of space. I then inserted cut down pins (I seem to have a lot spare after planking the hull). Painted black to match the poop deck rail. It is my intention to glue this small rail under the top of that already on the attatched to the deck, but not just yet as I still have a lot of work to do on the deck area and these buckets will be easily damaged even though they are made out of lead. Still working on a way to add the crown and GR on the buckets, dont fancy having to hand paint the lot so I may go with just leaving them painted black As always feedback is most welcombe GilShapley attached the following image(s): Current Build:- [color=blue]Stash Avro Lancaster (Full Kit)plus some extra issues I picked up at a good price [color=blue]Built:- Norman Catapult by Mantua,Roman Catapult by Mantua,HMS Victory,HMS Victory XSection,Focker DB1,Bismark,English Carronade Titanic Lifeboat,American Civil War Gatling,Hummer,Sopwith Camel F1,Occre Jupiter ,OcCre Wagon, Latina Arab Dhow, Eaglemass Orrery OcCre Rogers 119 [color=red][color=red]RB7,OcCre Missippi River Boat, Model Airways Fokker DR1 OcCre London L>C>C 106 Ugears Scrambler, Ugears Hexapod Explorer UGears Off-Road Vehicle

Hi, I believe I can help you with the "GR" logo for your fire buckets. Did you ever receive Jase's photo detail pack set of HMS Victory? If you did, you should find, as an attachment to the packs, a close-up photo of a fire bucket which can be scaled down and printed out. Jase gave a brief guide on how to do it at the end of his 'Quarterdeck' detail pack. Hope this is of help to you. Happy building David

Hi, This is the way I made som firebuckets. I copied the logo from a picture, scaled it down and copied it 4 times on a picture of two cirkels, made black between them. The outer cirkel is 50 mm and the inner 40 mm. I cut a quarter of that cirkle and wrapped it round the tip of a 5 mm round stick and glued it. I glued a bottom on it and a wire in it. See the parts of the process and the result. O yes, I still have to paint them black inside. Current build: HMS Victory Already built: Half moon, Stadt Bremen.

Hi janzwart
that looks fantastic. Would you mind and share the picture file with us? I am not that good in graphic software.
Keep it up.

Mike, Thank you for the information regarding the fire buckets,I have made a few but I now realize that they are a little to big,my measurements are 5mm x 4mm this will only allow me to have about 14 across. I would prefer to make my own from Walnut or Lime, this leaves me only to reduce diameter this will be another challange for me.Thanks for your help. Kind Regards Trev.
