in the meantime the sanding is finished. It's true that it looks a little lighter and grayish now but I didn't want to leave the deck without coating it with something. So I sealed it with Danish Oil and its that dark again. Haven't tried clear lacquer tough, maybe that would have been a better solution. Anyway, it's kinda okay for me now as I simply don't want to start all over again.

There is no miracle around it, it is a 4-year old Canon PowerShot A620, a rather simple compact all-in-one-camera. Nothing really special. I am working in my living room, mostly in the evening when there isn' a lot of daylight left. So I got myself a very good lamp incl. a magnifying glass called MAULvitrum (check for an image here). Adjusting the camera settings from automatic to this typ of light might be the trick. Plus some sort of tripod and patience does it all.
