Positive thinking does it all

Thx trev for the kind words,

in the meantime the sanding is finished. It's true that it looks a little lighter and grayish now but I didn't want to leave the deck without coating it with something. So I sealed it with Danish Oil and its that dark again. Haven't tried clear lacquer tough, maybe that would have been a better solution. Anyway, it's kinda okay for me now as I simply don't want to start all over again.

Cheers Timm

Hi Stefan, thanks for that compliment. There is no miracle around it, it is a 4-year old Canon PowerShot A620, a rather simple compact all-in-one-camera. Nothing really special. I am working in my living room, mostly in the evening when there isn' a lot of daylight left. So I got myself a very good lamp incl. a magnifying glass called MAULvitrum (check for an image here). Adjusting the camera settings from automatic to this typ of light might be the trick. Plus some sort of tripod and patience does it all.

Cheers, Timm

Hi guys

some minor news from germany ....

issues # 56

the last gunports ...

issues # 57

A modified version of my so called "distance-keeper". A piece of beechwood 8x8 mm with some leftover planks extended to 12x12 mm on one side. The 12x12 side gives me the correct position and size of the holes and the 8x8 side helps me to get the inner frames in the right position while the glue is drying.

Here is how I did my cabinwalls. Sorry, forgot to take picture of the finished painted version.

issues # 58

I finally got my shipwheel done. I ended up with buying some Tamyia spray color which worked fine.

Before starting with the last deck, most of the hull was covered with masking tape.
Again I did the deck from plywood insted of planks and finished it with walnut strips.

That's it for now, hope you enjoy it.

Cheers, Timm
