Hi Andre Ok let me try, front of mast must have a flat 5mm wide 188mm long, then on the sides starting at the top where you made the 8mm square, it tapers to 3mm 127mm down. Check with scetch step 4 Hope this helps Regards Pierre Current Buid: HMS Victory Next Build: Captain Cook's Endeavour Collecting issues Wish List: Santa Ana Bounty Santisima-Trinidad

Thanks Pierre Am I correct that it must look like this test dowel that I did and that the surface between the top and sides will stay curved? Regards Current Build: HMS Victory

Thanks Pierre. Since my last post I have completed the Main mast, plus two of the yards. Must still do the Main Topgallant Mast, however, in which edition are the instructions for it, I have browse through to no 80 and cannot find it. Maybe I need some reading glasses . Photos to follow in the next post. Cheers Current Build: HMS Victory

Thanks Pierre Some photos as promised. Wrapping rope around the mast with an idea borrowed from SoB, which makes it very easy to do as the rope does not become tangled and tension is maintained at all times. The device is used when making flies for fishing. Completed mainmast with all the yards. Must still paint over the lower part of the mast. Preparing the boat for painting the hull. The hull is primed. Could not find grey or white, only pink available, so I made use of a Black which is used on all types of materials. A good thing about it is, that it matches the next colour above it, so there will be no leaking of the colours. Once dry it looks a lot like tar. I have started the foremast. Slowly getting ahead and not in a hurry, as I have 10 days left before returning to Afghanistan. Regards Current Build: HMS Victory

Good Day to All My progress so far: Have partially completed the foremast, must still finish of the yards. The hull has been painted but needs to be sanded with a fine paper and then a final coat given. The drydock is closed until September "due to a strike by the workers who have heard that new figurines will be arriving". I will be returning to Afghanistan and will follow the threads from there. Regards to all and keep up the builds. Cheers Current Build: HMS Victory

Good Day All Having trouble with internet here in Afghan Country. I have been trying to resize the photos in photobucket but due to the internet problems, I am struggling as it takes forever (a whole day to resize 1 photo). Will post the photos when resized. What has happened since my last post: returned home in September but did not build as I was away to Port Nolloth and then did maintenace at home. During December I completed until Issue 83, including the Booms, Mizzen Mast and fitted the gunport lids. Did some deck installation. I have installed the Gallery windows and am having problems trying to find the right glue to glue wood onto it. I bought glue from the Hobby shop - Revell platic, but it does not work. Any recommendations? At the moment working and will continue with the build in Feb. By the way - A Prosperous New Year to all and may you continue to build. Regards Andre Current Build: HMS Victory
