Having read Andy's excellent recommendation for a beginners compressor kit, my question is what is the best airbrush to get, gravity fed or bottom feed?

Also apart from the obvious what is the difference between the two types?

As you already know i got both in the kit i bought,Mr T's link gives a good explanation i would just like to add this. Im also new to compressor airbrushes having used the propelant in a tin type in the past i did the 'goldberg Super Chipmunk' using cans [see pic i sprayed my canopy a see through blue but the rest was sprayed as shown],the gravity type airbrush has a fixed paint container of around 2 fluid ounces and is good for smaller parts and finer work,the bottom feed type generally have a larger glass pot paint holder that i find good for spraying hulls like my Yamato ,as the paint must be thinned down by 50% it can be hard to get a consistent colour match if you run out half way through.Also i have noticed that Tamiya's spray tin of Kure Grey tends to dry darker than mixed for airbrush at home,so i will have to respray all my model so far to get a consistant colour match.This is based on my experiences so far using the kit and will probably be shot down by more experienced users on parts of the above but im learning too ,hope this helps

Thanks for all the great advice,lots of food for thought. I really want to get hold of an airbrush kit before I make a start on my Zero and Stuka so as to try and do them justice.
