I was just wondering as the Official build is nearing its end when the figurines will be available and how many, also will these be part of the last issue.

The first of the figurines are within issue 118, three assorted officers and five assorted gun crew as per the photos below.
118 also contains a 7 page painting guide to help with the painting of the figurines within this issue.Tomick attached the following image(s):

I have spent hundreds of hours on this build making a model that I'm very proud of. There's no way on Gods earth I'm putting these toys on it. I have followed this forum for the last two years making the occasional contribution but this is the one topic which mystifies me as to why anyone would contemplate adding crew. How many of the fine models featured in the magazines have them?

Figures aren't my personal cup of tea, but I'm not going to knock anybody who does want to add them. Each to their own.

They dont look that bad and I reckon that some of you would do a better paint job than that toy box effort on the mag cover. I dont think it does them justice.

Hi shipmates Is there anybody on this forum who would consider painting my figures for me? I would of course cover all postage and reimburse you for your efforts. I'm just not 'tooled up' for such a task and my hands and eyes are just not up to the job. This seems like a job for someone experienced in the 'games' world like D&D Many thanks and happy building David

To each his own I suppose. The figures look good and are one of the main reasons I took on the Victory build. I think they would give it a bit of life and a sense of scale. The pic of them on the mag looks a bit cartoony so I think I'll stick with Humbrol matt enamels, can give a more realistic hue to things. How many figures are we going to get? I still have over a hundred 1/72 scale Knights, archers and horses to paint for my fortress; excuse me while I go a little nuts. Oh -um- sorry, too late. Current builds: The Victory (of course) The Endeavour The Bismarck Lancaster Bomber And any model kit that catches my eye Everything from 1/35 military to Godzilla and anything in between. Oh and a suit of armour. ( yes real knights armour )

Hi Harty Had a look at your build diary and the figures there look excellent. I notice you've included some on your 'Supply' as well. Did you paint these yourself? I'm a little confused here (that doesn't take much these days ), but are you offering to paint my figures for me or was that an example of what they'll look like when they're painted? Happy building David

Hi Daffy, yes they were hand painted by yours truly and it looks like the same metal as is on the victory. If you want me to have a go at a paint job on yours I,ll give it a go if you want, cant do any worse than that Picasso job in that mag I suppose . They are done in oils and enamel so they take ages to dry , so it wont be an overnight job if you know what I mean, so if you trust me with them pm with your email and we will sort something out no charge Ian
