Hi guys, I have been watching with interest the few builders who are attempting this very often tricky enhancement and in the same breath impressed with the efforts. I have noticed that no-one seems to use a datum line to help with keeping the tiling straight and level. I have seenevidence of this line on Admiralty models and it looks like a permanent water line. Then there is this thing about the false keel which reared its head not long ago. Do you copper it or dont, the false or permanent waterline, can we have some input on these from the guys doing this enhancement or if anybody has some pics, let us see them. It will I am sure help future builders in this copper world. Good luck to the coppersmiths and well done . Regards IanBigGrin

What do you mean by coppering the false keel?

Hi John , the false keel was seemingly a renewable length of keel that was never coppered because of damage occurring in shallow waters. I think I have only seen one of the builds that has actually been modeled and everybody else has just coppered the whole keel. I am guilty of this myself on other builds I have done and was just wondering about the accuracy of such a model undertaking and how some of the guys would do it . Confused regards Ian
