here are probably my last pics of my attempt, as i had always planned not to put any of the ships boats on, they will all be displayed off the ship. having put the flags on, i have now decided that in my opinion they do not look good on a stained model, they are too shiny and new looking,so i will be taking them off. the flags look great on tomicks official build, so i think anyone who has painted their build should put them on. it's been great fun building this ship, and the fact that since getting back into modelling i've built the cutty sark, (badly), the sanfransisco, (not too bad), the santa maria, (quite good),la nina (my best) the hermione ( a good attempt) and i've nearly finished the titanic, which i've not enjoyed as much as sailing ships, as my painting skills are resticted because of my hands. i've got the akagi to start, which as it's mainly grey should not be a problem for my limited painting skills. finally i picked up the del prado bounty, which i am looking forward to starting soon. compared to other builds mine is not one of the greatest, but i hope it gives anyone who is starting off some hope that a decent model can be built, if you follow the magazines, and tomicks official build.(which is great for correcting the few printing errors that have appeared in the magazines. so here are my pics of what will be my finished model, and good luck to all you other builders out there. saintsman123 attached the following image(s): Come on you Jimmies

Hi Bob, The first to complete and how great she looks, I bet your very pleased I agree, the flags look too pristine for such an exposed item, possibly some slight matt weathering might sort it. Just one small thing, if you wet the anchor rope it should set into a neat hanging curve.

WELL DONE BOB! You're the first to complete out of the forum members, thank you for sharing your work with the rest of us! I do agree with you about the flags, I didn't like the look of them when I got last week’s issue and won't be fitting these flags either. Good luck with your next project Bob!
