Having seen models with sails they obscure the detail from the deck and rigging in general, when I look at Malds build of the Victory, at the moment there are no sails and the detail on his deck is for all to see wonderful!o at best I will may have furled sails or none at all I have sourced some very thin gold wire which I will be using on my build, plus some really fantastic gold leaf, which will be fitted to metal and wood alike(although there is a process to be followed before wood will accept it) Have a look:- Hi Mike, These are great ideas, I'm looking forward to seeing what your going to do with you enhancements, in particular the jewels. I'll be following with interest. Regards

Hi Mike, Thanks so much for starting this thread and thinking of us newbies. One of the main reasons I took the plunge to start this great project was the support that you and other folks are happy to provide on this forum. The tool tips are much appreciated too, I thinking of holding on for the free items should I go for the subscription. Is this a 'no brainer' ?!!!
Cheers
Andy

Mike I have followed a number of your build diaries, they're outstanding by the way. I see you have built a lot of models, tell me where do you keep them all, or do you give them away.
Regards John

Regards John Hi John, Thank you for your nice comments, all the current models you see are either in the progress of being built, or stored untill I get all the parts.I do not give them away, and they are kept in the conservatory. I take my time, plus I have a very demanding job, I have to have lots of models on the go because I am a perfectionist, and I like to get them as accurate as possible Kind Regards Mike MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Mike,
Is wood primer needed with sanding sealer or is it all in one and suitable for painting straight on?
