Sorry to bring this topic up again, but I have been away from the country for 4 months, and haven't been able to follow the steps to take with the different paint work on the front and rear wings. I have both the rear and front wing completed. Could someone please shed light on whether I need to order new parts ?
Thanks

Hi,
Having spent a considerable amount of time discussing with Kyosho the queries raised by customers on this forum, we have been advised that any colour variances which customers may have experienced are a result of the different types of material used in the production of the MP4-23. Kyosho worked very closely with McLaren to produce this model and naturally we want to use the best materials possible for the model. We must emphasise that many of the parts issued to date will require finishing to the extent that decals will need to be applied, which is dealt with in later issues. As posted in our original post on July 6th, we believe that upon completion of your build, you will be extremely happy with your model but if you continue to have any queries after this time, then we will be happy to answer them.
Thanks

I also recommend that you double check that Halfords clear will not disolve the paint, in particluar the silver. Tobe be sure you need to use an aqueous lacquer such as Mr Hobby B501 clear gloss, though others have had good test results using Tamiya clear gloss aerosol applied in thin coats.

Which one is the best to use with a brush?
I would rather paint it on than use a spray.
Thanks

The intent for glossing is an overall gloss applied to all painted parts, i.e. silver and red and over the decals etc.
It would be an idea to first test on a hidden area with whatever you use before tackling for real.
Its down to personal choice if you gloss or not.

Hi, just a quick question to Warthog & Mr T regarding Klear. In a previous post, it was mentioned that a couple of brushed coats of Klear & a quick shine with a duster would give a nice shiny finish? I have given my carbon decals a couple of coats of Klear, but it is not particularly shiny, even after a 'vigorous rub' with a micro-fibre duster. should I add a few more coats, or did I do something wrong? Thanks Well spin my nipple-nuts & send me to AlaskaCurrent Builds:McLaren MP4-23Finished007's Aston Martin DB5FinishedMillennium FalconR2-D2BTTF Delorean (Maybe)

No need to vigorously rub either Spencer

I used Klear on my wings and got a lovely deep gloss with 2 brush coats and a good 'yellow duster' polish. Roy.

I'm going to 'Klear' everything when the model is finished. I can't forsee a problem as I've used Klear on almost every model car I've built over the past few years and never had any problems. Roy.

Yeah...I am going use Klear too! That seems to be the way to go. And to be clear....Klear will not affect the silver paint???? Can't wait to get building again once my other monocoque (Issue 67) arrives. Chris
