Just a quickie. What exactly are these? The magazine instructions do not seem to clearly state where they go.

 Hi Rob The parts you are asking about are the cannon trunion covers, the sticky out bits on the cannon that allow it to be mounted on the carriage are the trunions.Mr T.s official build says to glue these with super glue, use a very small amount of glue so the cannon still moves when in place .Hope this helps regards Andy  Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Agh, no I knew that. I made a mistake. What I actually meant was the four blocks that are in the cannon pack.
Is it fair to assume that not all parts are used each week and I am to just keep the blocks safe until needed further down the line?

Indeed, they are used later on and they will be secured to the cannon.
Any carry-over parts should be carefully stored and placed into a bag labelled with the issue number. You'll find there are a lot of carry-over parts supplied that make up assemblies later on.

nick you want to get a small container/box, or something with compartments such as this http://www.wickes.co.uk/invt/168023
that way you can store all the various blocks and other spares that are put away til later. bear in mind that with victory some parts came with an issue and were not used for a very long time, maybe as much as 6 months Come on you Jimmies

no problem that was just an example nick, there are others to be found, pound shops, aldi and lidl are great places for stuff like this. however i do use a wicks one. Come on you Jimmies

wickes one looks like it will last should I get some paint primer while there ? do I really need that with model paint  on the bench soverign of the seas & hms hood , collecting hms victory

I picked these up in B&Q a while back for about a tenner. Don't know if they still do them but they might have something like it.

like the look of those keep all my clamps in and tools !at mo all my tools for model making all in big under bed type storage box from wilkinsons think these type of boxes loads better  on the bench soverign of the seas & hms hood , collecting hms victory

Talking of small blocks, I received issue 2 and 3 today and checked the contents. In the magazine there's 6 small blocks pictured and I only have 5 in the little plastic package. Will this become a problem later or will they provide spares automatically with various issues?

Sometimes there may be the odd spare, but in this instance I would put in an issue 2 missing item request to customer services.

Same thing happened to me when I bought a 2nd copy of issue 1, only 2 blocks instead of 4. I've built from complete kits before and you usually get loads of spares (easy to break or lose). let's hope this isn't a sign of things to come (or not in these cases). However these common little bits are readily available from boat modelling dealers, I don't know what DeAg would do if something more unique was missing. Perhaps the more experienced builders can reassure us.

Another easy and cheap/free storage alternative are bank money bags (the ones used for banking coins i.e. 20 x £1 coins). Label and store in a suitable container like the plastic container of washing powder mentioned above...
