I am from Melbourne and this is my very first wooden scale model ship. Though, I have already started my ship last July, after I have collected all the instruments, equipments (not the big time or the advance type...can't afford... ) and my neighbors clothes pegs , I hope I can ask questions and advices to the pioneers of model ship builders I will greatly appreciate the help and advices. Thanks a lot in advance to all !!!

I have finished my first launch boat. I would like to insert a photo of my finished launch boat and the part of my build, but I have no idea how to do it. Anyway, I'll do a google on how to attach photos so you can see my progress. Edgar

Edgar, Your launch looks fantastic , I have gone for the natural look myself but your picture makes me want to stain my build as well. Can you let me know what wood stains you have used? You can set up your own build diary in the Members ship build diarys forum. I downloaded a free app called photosizer off the net and adjusted my pictures to 600-450 pixels so they post straight up and other viewers dont have to download the pics to see them. Look forward to seeing some more of your build soon. Cheers Tony

Hi Edgar and welcome to the forum mate...that's one fine build you've got there, a credit to you! If that is your Vic in the background? May I suggest that you build a dry dock for it to prevent the false keel from warping mate. There are plenty of examples on dry docks ( Or Jigs)on various members builds on this forum. And as for posting pictures, there are instructions for that on this site too...personally I use Photobucket, it is easier. Hope this helps??..Happy building mate... Current Builds: Deagostini HMS Victory: Deagostini HMS Sovereign of the seas. Completed Builds: Del Prado: HMAS Bounty: Hachette: RMS Titanic: Del Prado: Cutty Sark...

Cabothane clear "satin" as my top coat and for the stains, I use the shades of Brazilian Roast, Acorn, Boxwood and Maple. I have downloaded the fotosizer app and will play around with it until I get the hung of using that app. Thx mate for the advice for the photo.

Hope it's not yet too late and I will make a dry dock for my build. And as for the PhotoBucket, I'm still trying to play around with it and once I understand how it works I will be using that too. Thanks heaps mate. Edgar

Tomick wrote:The Sovereign mag will show how to make dry dock/keel jig Mr T, If I am not mistaken mate, The Sovereing of the Seas is not yet available here in Australia... Anyway mate, I will look around in google if I can find a good pattern for the dry dock/keel jig. Some how I think I know how to make the dry dock with the use of a couple of samll angular braces and a staight flat board anyway, Thanks heaps Edgar
