Hi Everyone. I was stunned by the advert for SOTS, so I've taken the plunge and subscribed. This is my first time on a forum, but not my first partwork. I've had a bad experience with the Del Prado Victory. This leads me to a question. Is the model going to be as the pictures on the website? I know that the D.P.Victory was not - it had none of the deck furnishings or details shown in the initial adverts and info. I really hope it is, and am looking forward to joining in with the whole forum experience. Erik.

Welcome Zelrik. The content should be as per the images though its finishing is down to the modeller. DP had some awful kits, and its no wonder they have long since been out of business. Enjoy your build

Thanks guys, I must admit to being a bit twitchy when I previewed the issue 3 anchor build instructions, the finished bit looked coarse compared to the detail photos, but no doubt the build diary will be a great help, as will all of you. Can't wait to get stuck in ! Erik.

Hi Coolbanana and thanks to everyone for the kind hello's. This will be my second ship, having ground to frustrated halt [ temporary ? ] with the DP Victory ; but on that one I'd made the mistake of saving up all the parts before starting, and when I did get going there was little active support around. This time I'm looking forward to building it in sync with everyone. It's very comforting to know that help is just a post away. Enjoy. Erik.

I've just finished Caldercrafts HM Bark Endeavour ( not a cheap kit, by any means), but the level of support available here, the quality of the instructions and the quality and detail of the parts are so far in a different league altogether.
