DRY DOCK

Hi Team I have made my "Dry Dock " Ship Jig.

I took a piece of flat fibre board 1200cm x 30cm, I measured 1/2 of the width and drew a line down the centre this is where I will assemble the keel of the SOTS, but only when I have all the parts of the Keel.

I will then be able to fit the steel angle brackets, on the jig allowing them to fall between the proposed ribs see the forth and fifth photos:-

I purchased 10 copies of issue one, so I could ply with the cannon, but it also gave me copies of the fabulous poster, I cut one up to personalise the Dry DockBigGrin Comments welcome Regards Mike

I removed all the loose ash from the parts with a file and I find emery boards are useful for getting inside the slots:=

I took out my large level board, and placed a layer of plastic sheet on it fixed down with masking tape, this is so when I glue the parts together if any seeps out of the bottem the part will not stick to the board:-

Next up is to fit and glue the parts ( I used a 4mm jig spacer to keep the parts firmly in poition, and used a square to check for 90degree fit:-
