Hello all you Grand prix fans,
Just thought I'd let you know that there is an interesting couple of hours of Classic F1 on Sky TV this coming Friday 14th September!!
On Sky Channel 425 - ESPN Classic :
11.45 am - Half hour highlights of the 1976 Japanese Grand prix at Fuji. James Hunts' title winning race in the pouring rain after his rival Niki Lauda pulled out claiming it was unsafe, leaving Hunt to eventually get the 3rd place he needed to take the title by just one point, with Mario Andretti winning the race in his John Player Special Lotus 78 and I think the Tyrrell Six Wheeler was in that race as well. Great Stuff!!
Followed by:
12:15 pm - Half hour highlights of the 1977 British Grand Prix at Silverstone. James Hunt dominates the weekend in his McLaren M26, taking Pole Position, Fastest Lap and the Race win!! Also features the debut of Gilles Villeneuve, which if memory serves me right was in the older McLaren M23 and he outqualified Hunts' team mate Jochen Mass who was in the newer M26. Plus it features the first outing of the Turbo-charged Renault RS01. Great stuff again!
Followed by;
12:45pm - 'DRIVEN' a 1 hour programme about the late great Graham Hill and his career!!
All three are repeated later the same day starting at 8:00pm, 8:30pm and 9:00pm.
Some great Motor Racing History and well worth watching even if you've seen it all before? Enjoy!
