 Hi All Some times you will need to tranfer a downloaded part of a plan or image onto the wooden part you are dealing with on your build.There are several ways to do this ,the old tracing paper method,guestimation or the hot iron transfer method.I didnt invent this idea myself but was told about it by a fellow modeler years ago. Its a very easy and quick way to transfer images and goes as following,borrow the wifes pride and joy[iron to me and you] and set it to hot or high,then cut out the paper image you need and position it in place on the part you want it transfered too.Some tape to keep it in position is also a good idea.Then when your happy with its position run the iron over the paper once or twice,this should transfer the image onto the part you are dealing with. thats very similar to what i do every day, only instead of an iron i use my hot foil press. its certainly a good tip andy. Come on you Jimmies

Hi Andy, thanks for the tip but I have a question  , if you place the paper (ink side down) will you not get a mirror image?  please advise, thanks in advance

check in print preferences/properties, you should be able to select print mirror, that way it avoids other software. Come on you Jimmies

Hi sorry i didnt answer but its been a bit busy workwise,the Yamato image used is a view from underneath so just lining up the edges on the wood is fine.If this method is used from plan's to copy hull formers/parts and your woried about a mirror image just turn it over after you cut it out simples  regards Andy  Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .
