Hi all,
I have been fitting the copper plates to the hull of my Victory.
I tried all sorts of glue's but settled for Locktite Super Glue Gel.
The only problem was it gets on top of the tiles and when it dries you can't get it off, well i got some Nitro Mors paint stripper and tryed it on a few tiles and worked a treat , then last week i put Nitro Mors all over the tiles realy worked it in left it for 15 mins and then rubbed it down with smooth wet and dry, the washed it off with a cloth soaked in cold water, that will kill the Nitro Mors.
Then dried it with a soft cloth and polished it with Brasso and it comes up lovely.
Saying that don't use it where kids are around and try not to get on your skin it will burn, wear gloves, hard hat yellow jacket steel toe capped boots, protective eye glasses, and don't forget to call the H and S Executive that you intend to use it then they can put a cordon around your house while you use itLOL .

Have you tried using Super glue de-bonder which in effect dissolves it.

i've tried nail varnish remover, pure acetone./ouch/, zap de-bonder, loctites own brand. they were all useless.

this stuff works.

you only need a small amount, it has even taken it off the carpet and clothes.

I have only tried zap de-bonder worked but needed repeat applications to remove super glue off a painted surface did'nt leave any marks on the paint. Used it on plastic and it left a mark on the surface. Thanks for the link saintsman123 have to get some and give it a try.

Cheers

Chris

Hi I copper tiled the hull I used evo stik serious glue for the bulk but I had to use super glue for the tiles that had to be bent to stop them popping up.The thing I did when super glue was on the tiles was to scrape it off with a craft knife it came off very easy. It did not bother me if it left some small scrape marks on the tiles because once finished I rubbed the tiles will fine scotchbrite hope it helps.
