i am just updating my home insurance, so am listing all our valuables, not that there's many, and was wondering how much i should put down as a value for my victory model.

is it just the cost to replace plus other materials used, or does it have a further value as a completed model. of course knowing my skills it may actually be worth less than a replacement.

i have tried contacting my insurance company, but they are currently experiencing problems with their computer system.Cursing

any insurance agents on the forum.

I would note as cost to replace, which is cost of series, consumables and extras, plus a nominal hourly rate at the minimum wage rate.
Because ultimately you may not be in a position to build another, in which case you would have to pay someone to build or buy like for like, but you know what insurances companies are like for squirming.

thanks for that tom, it's what i was thinking.

i never worried too much about insurance in the past, i always went for the cheapest quote, but a couple of years ago we had a small fire in our conservatory, there were no problems with the insurance company and we had it all cleaned and repaired for the cost of the excess. however the loss adjuster said that we were lucky, if the fire had spread into the house there were a number of items that we would not have gotten full value for, as the basic policy we had didn't cover them. so now i still shop around but make sure i have a good look at the policy.
