I've not phyically seen it yet, but I am guessing that the hull supports and name plate block will need to be attached for ease of packaging and to prevent breakage during transit.

Thanks as ever Tom.

Just a thought but the nameplate might look better with a black background to the letters so the letters look more in relief and remain a gold col

On the 29th August Tomick advised that the stand for the Victory was anticipated in the next 3 weeks or so. This would have put the availability at about September 18th,also that an offer/order leaflet would be going out shortly.

I can only speak for myself but,to date,I have received neither an order leaflet, nor can I find any information at the online shop to suggest that the stand will be available any time soon.

We subscribers have spent nearly £1000.00 on this project. Is itv too much to ask to be kept "In the loop"?

I think he may have assumed that already.

The question is whether there is any sort of estimate (non contractual of course) as to when that might be, approximately.

Personally I am still about 3 years away from that point but it would be interesting to know.

The DeAgostini Victory display stand is due to arrive this week. The promotional tab has just been put up, and as soon as they arrive, you should be able to place orders.

Great stand Maldbuild,i will also be making my own.
I find it hard to swallow that stands, paints etc..that should be part of the build are all extras, whilst i love the build and info in each issue all the experience i have had with DeAg so far as a company leaves me feeling sick.MrT is the only one i have seen that even seems able to answer a question,to put an 0845 number on CS for a build of this cost is contemptible.
I could go on but i will leave it there, aside from not giving them my money for a stand i think Maldbuild has the right idea in building a unique piece open to a lot of creative license.
Rant over^^
Tell me the truth,I shall not offend nor be offended

I'm way off needing a stand, but if you go on price, the De-Ag stand is good, if it keeps at the previous quoted price.
If you look at CMB their bronze dolphins are £28.00p and a wooden base is £27.00. as i would not want to put it on columns alone.
To make one you would need good quality wood; a router to do the edging and a band saw to cut the supports, and then it may not turn out as good. (depending on your woodworking skills )
So Mr.T's quoted price of £19.99p for DeAg's stand is very good.
Malbuild's stand is very good, but i bet those dolphins cost a bit.
Mal.
