Excellent tiling Stefan, and thanks for the pictures, as it shows me the stages you went through in tiling your hull, from begining to end.

Thanks Mal.

After fitting a lot of full tiles on the Port side, I'm now back to the starboard side - fitting the little stealer rows and little 'filler' tiles. Much more time-consuming

I'm now going to completely finish the starboard side.

Hi Ian,

I did 99% of the cutting with ordinary scissors, just used a knife to trim very small bits off the tiles if needed, or a fine file to make them fit 100%

Thanks Mike, I saw it - don't know how one would do that it this scale, so I'm just cracking on with the tiles.

All the tiles on the starboard side have now been fitted:

And the portside bow is also complete:

I'm leaving the tiling of the bottom of the keel till last.

Thanks Peter and Ian!

@Peter: If I know what a time-consuming and long-winded affair the tiling would be, I don't think I would have looked forward to it, but the end result is well worth it.

Tiling continuing on the Port-side stern. (You can see the dis-colourisation of the 2 rows of tiles that was initially laid against the keel)

I should have the hull finished early next week, then to line the top of the keel and the rudder. With clean-up I guess the copper tiling work should be done within the next 2 weeks. :D

Great job there Stefan. I am not tiling mine but yours is reaaly looking good. Quick question, what is causing the discoloring, will it not eventually polish out?

Thanks Hans!

Not sure what is causing it, but I'm waiting until I've completed all the tiling and then give it a clean and a once-off polish. Then I'll leave the tiles to age/discolour naturally.

Nice Stefan and just a bit behind you and following your lead. Mine too as discoloured so interested in what you do to remove it. White spirit cleans up the tiles nicely after gluing but it doesn't touch this stuff.

In the end though, happy for it go go that colour as it look natural but I guess a coat of polish is required if you don't.
