Hi, so im sure alot of people are wondering what the colours are if any.
1) I want to know What do i need as a "Primer"? if i am painting, and what is a primer suitable?
2) Also, I like the natural oak/mahogany Canons on a picture from the ship page so what is the best aproatch to get the wood this colour? and what do i use? Dyes stain or varnish
3) And most importantly where Can i but it from?!
4) Im assuming that you have to fine sand the wood canon base before staining it to look real right? or will the varnish take care of the colour?
5) One last question is, Airspray how well will it look after compared to a brush? And can use it to spray on the dye/varnish/stain also?
alot of questions but you guys are amazing at answering them! Thanks for your time :) Samuel.

Hi Samuel, Whoa, that is a lot of questions and there are lots of different answers to each one. If you look around the earlier posts on SOTS you will find lots of people suggesting their favoured methods. My answers are 1) Yes you will need a primer with Acrylics not with Enamels. 2) you can stain and varnish or use dyed varnish 3) DIY shops and hobby shops or online. 4) No you don't have to sand. 5) Airbrushing is not necessary with small areas/ parts. If you are not sure, experiment on some scrap bits to see if you are happy with your chosen materials. It's probably best to choose a paint manufacturer Tamiya, Humbrol, Citadel etc. and then use their system, look them up online or check at your local supplier. Toymaster here, sell all three.
