as I'm having an open side,I am furnishings the lower gun deck with gratings,columns,and decking.so a great deal of research and planning is required. I've started by fitting the decking in scale size planks which will be visible through the opening.none of the ribs or deck are glued yet.

added the columns where they are going to be seen,also added the beam knees on the opposite side to the opening.placed a hatch in middle which will also be seen from the opening.painted the far gun reinforcement beam white.

thanks berdt, the columns were nearer scale to the real one's(I think)and the hatch grating and companionway with it boards covering for bad weather are interesting.have yet to fix companionway posts and handrails.

thanks Ian,I'm waiting for the lighting l.e.d.'s I've ordered yellow and will incorporate them into the reinforcement beams,and those on the other side of the opening will be disguised as canons,well that's the idea,hope it works,terminating the led's will be done by two brass wires mounted on top of the reinforced beams,which will go all around the decks.will keep you all posted when the lights arrive.
